Daniel and I are home from the most amazing trip away. We went to Ibiza, we’ve never been before so this was our first time and we loved it so much.
We booked the dates in a year ago and booked our accommodation and flights last year November.
The trip was especially for our lovely friends wedding. It was a lovely busy five days, we had the stag and hen do and also went on a catamaran all together. Which was my first time and I loved it. It was so much fun.
We had many a stunning sunset dinners which were just beautiful watching that sunset in ibiza is like nothing else you’ve experienced. So beautiful to watch the sunset while eating good food and drinking. I can see why people love it out there, it has such a nice vibe/atmosphere especally if you know the places to go.
As our friends had been many times before they knew all the best places to go and we really had such a lovely time a few of my favourites where eating dinner at David’s, the food was delicious especially the potato gratin. Sunset dinner and drinks at the Golden Buddha, and then another sunset dinner at Experimental beach. These three were my top favourites.
We stayed at the Alua Hawaii in Ibiza, and I’d definitely recommend it lovely hotel and good food.
The wedding was at Ibiza Elizir and I can honestly say it was the most amazing wedding venue I’ve ever been to. The views were breathtaking onto the ocean and all of us couldn’t stop going over to admire it. Truly beautiful. The wedding was beautiful from start to finish and so special. So lovely to see our friends so in love and tie the knot.
So many memories were made on this trip, it was just the best having time with my husband, with our friends, in such a beautiful place.
We didn’t take the children on this trip and this was our first proper holiday as a couple for more then a few nights. (We did go to Marbella in 2016 for a friends birthday which was just for 3 days) We’ve not ever even had a honeymoon I just wasn’t ready to leave Sophia at the time, when she was two and didn’t think i’d enjoy myself being away from her.
As I’ve got older and now we have three children I’ve really pushed myself to do this for us as a couple and to not let myself get overly anxious and now we’ve done it I’d love to go away with Dan again, maybe make it a once a year thing for a few nights. It was really special and so nice to just have each other for company.
The children were so safe and happy at home they had a lovely time while we were away and it has really given me the confidence to be okay in leaving them. They were fine. So if you too are anxious don’t be! Try work on telling yourself everything will be okay and turning your anxiety into excitement it worked for me, even though I had a big cry at the airport before we boarded. The trip away with your partner is so special and something you will remember forever, it’s so worth it to do it.
We absolutely love being parents but also that time alone was so appreciated. I wont ever forget it.
This trip really cemented how grateful we are for each other and our children. I feel so thankful for this little family I have and that we have each other to share it all with. Dans an amazing person and I’m always smiling when I’m with him. Not like a man I’ve ever had in my life before and so for the way he is and everything he does for me I appreciate him so much.
Life really is for living, for feeling good, and chasing the experiences that bring you joy. Live everyday like it is your last and love those close to your like its your last. Always put in the extra effort and always try your best to be the best you and you’ll never go wrong.
I also managed to be more confident and tried to embrace my body over our time away. My body has definitely changed after three children but everyday I am learning to love it more. I am proud of myself for trying to embrace it on this trip because Im very used to covering up just because I can be so insecure. But everyday Im learning. And at present feeling very thankful to my body for keeping me alive and healthy, thats my new current mentality.
Here is a video I put together so that I could remember our trip and some of the things we got up to.
