As the nights draw in and the weather gets colder it’s tempting to escape to some far-flung destination and get some winter sun. Taking children travelling with you can be both rewarding and exhausting, so here are some of my favourite places to go with my kids when I want to enjoy the sun at the end of the year.
Perfect for families and some winter sun, Malta has loads of attractions and excursions to keep kids of all ages occupied. Surrounded by beautiful beaches, the region is great for those that want to soak up the sun in winter. Despite being a small archipelago, Malta is packed with enticing things to do and exciting things to see. Even the most easily distracted of children will never get bored.
This picturesque Greek island is perfect for those seeking a peaceful trip away to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life and find some winter sun. Which is filled with natural wonders that everyone should experience at least once in their lives.
With delicious food and tranquil beaches, Sicily is ideal for those looking for a lazy winter holiday spent relaxing with the family. There are a range of monuments and sights to see, as well as some impressive dining establishments. Even the most discerning of eaters will find something to tempt them and give them a holiday they’ll never forget.
Safe and peaceful, the Maldives is an island paradise for those who wish to recuperate in real luxury during the final months of 2019. The region boasts a wide variety of incredible resorts with unique features such as overwater villas, water sports facilities and private yachts. There’s something for everyone in this glorious collection of islands. For those with the budget you can have an incredible time and enjoy the trip of a lifetime in the Maldives.

From the UK Australia might seem like a long journey, particularly with little ones, but it’s worth it to swim with some of the world’s most beautiful marine life, explore varied habitats and learn more about the country’s fascinating indigenous culture and rich history.
