Before having my children I could probably count on one hand the amount of times I went to the gym. Although I did dance before I had my children and that kept me relatively fit. I think I owe my childhood of dancing to maintaining a  little bit of my figure post birth and pregnancy. Mr T has always enjoyed fitness, he started taking part in triathlons and did a half Iron man a while ago. He motivated me and I got into running. We did the park run every Saturday together for a while, before life took over again.

Raising two young children, doing up our home, and working has taken over much of our lives recently and we both have struggled to fit in any sort of fitness routine. When The Better Body Group got in touch I was both apprehensive and eager to give the gym a go and get back into some sort of fitness routine.

I am really pleased to have had the opportunity to get my motivation for fitness back with The Better Body Group. Mr T even joined me for some classes too which was nice, he really enjoyed himself.

The Better Body Group is perfect for me to go and attend a class, or have a personal training session while Archie is at nursery for the morning and Sophia is at school. It means after the school run in the morning I can go straight there and enjoy an intense workout and by the time I am finished I can pick Archie up afterwards. 

I would love to tell you a little more about The Better Body Group itself. I think it is a fantastic gym and the people who run it and work there make it a great place. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. The classes I did were fantastic. I felt so motivated during and after the classes. The Trainers really have a passion for what they do and it shows through, they geniunely care and want to help you reach your goals.


The Better Body Group Team

The Better Body Group offers individual training programmes. The trainers are all highly qualified with Degrees relating to sports, and nutrition. Individual plans are specifically created for you so that you can achieve your goals. When I had my personal training session I was shown some great techniques.

I have taken a number of different classes and had a few personal training sessions and I can honestly say it has been the best experience I have had within a gym setting. Post class I felt so motivated to come back again. I think exercise does that, it gets all the healthy endorphins flowing that get you quite addicted to improving and doing better. The Gym itself is so well equipped and really well laid out.

Lucy took one of my personal training sessions and she was amazing, she is so lovely and I really enjoyed my session with her. She worked me really hard, but not too hard. She took her time with me and quickly adapted her training style to suit my fitness needs and level.

We started off rolling out my right hip as it was causing me a bit of pain at the time. I had never been shown this before so this was really helpful for me. We then started on some simple core exercises which I quite enjoyed. We then progressed on to arm workouts as I had asked her if we could focus on my arms, abs and glutes. We even did some boxing training which was nothing like I have ever tried before. 

Lucy showed me how to correctly hold my back during exercise and how to correctly build strength in my arms, all areas in which I was lacking beforehand.

I also had the pleasure of meeting Jimmy. He is such an amazing trainer, if you want to be motivated to work harder and improve he is definitely your guy. He takes the spinning class and that is one of my favourite classes.

I also met Jas, he took the full body work out class which was really great. This was different to spinning and having a personal trainer as it was quite intense and full on, moving from one workout station to the next. It was a great class and definitely got me out of breathe. I was aching afterwards which is always a good sign.

I just want to say thank you to everyone at The Better Body Group for making my experience so wonderful and for inviting me to enjoy working out in a gym setting. It has been great getting to know you and work with you.

    This sounds brilliant, I’d love to get into doing a high impact exercise class once a week, I find I’m more likely to go if it’s an organised group or I’m training with a team because I’d feel like I was letting people down if I didn’t go.

    I took out a gym membership in September when my girls started nursery and have enjoyed seeing my progress

    This looks good. I am so lazy when it comes to exercising though. I am planning to play tennis but we’ll see how that goes.

    Some people think of not to go to the gym when having children. I think its wrong. I love HIIT workouts and do it even at home
