Ive finally found some time to sit down and write this post and schedule it. It’s one for the memory box, of our time in Wales.
Over the summer holidays we made a trip up to Wales as we usually do, to see our family. And what an amazing time we had.
It was honestly such a lovely trip. We visited some beautiful places. We went to lake Vrynwy. It’s so big and Jenny my mother in law took us to one part of the lake that we had not been before.
We went for a walk there and came to a beautiful stream the kids loved playing in the water. Arthur was a bit grumpy this day and refused anyone but Daniel and wanted to be carried but not in his carrier! He is so cheeky.
The views were absolutely breathtaking. It shocks me sometimes seeing it. Especially as we don’t have mountains hills and streams here where we are.
It was a lovely walk and the perfect way to start our holiday in Wales. We took coffee and snacks and it was just really lovely. We love being outdoors so it was a perfect trip for us.
We also then went for a walk in one of the local towns and walked along the canal.
Later in the afternoon for another walk at my mother in laws house. All this on her back door. It’s absolutely beautiful. The photos really don’t do it as much justice. It’s just vast and just such a good feeling being out in the open with the beautiful views.
We also visited a National trust while we were there.
It had a lovely play area and the kids has so much fun. Especially Archie, he had dressed in his Army kit that his granny had got him for his birthday last year and was so happy when he found some mud to walk in!
On our last day we visited Birmingham aquarium and had the best time. The kids loved it and it was a lovely visit to end our last day we also took the kids to Wagamamas as a little treat. Granny Jenny came with us and it was lovely to have her with us.
Arthur was again a bit grumpy on the way home. He finds the long car journeys quite boring in the back. I’ve said to Daniel for our next trip that’s it I’m going to purchase some DVD players for the back of the car so they can watch a movie because it’s such a long trip for them especially for Arthur. Sophia and Archie are so used to it now and are fine on long drives. It will be nice for all of them especially Arthur to watch some telly instead of being upset. There is only so much entertainment, drawing, eating and reading a book can do for an under two. He does very well bless him.
It’s always such a lovely time visiting our family there. Having the beauty of the landscapes around us always makes me so reflective and thoughtful. I am constantly dreaming of all different things. It feels like our home away from home for us. I love our little trips there it’s become quite the tradition and I love that as our children grow older they will have all the memories of Wales and visiting and spending time with their family. It’s really very special. Wales will hold so many of our family memories and of the children growing up it makes me so happy. It’s a huge part of Daniel’s younger life too. It holds huge sentimental value to our families. And I love that it’s a place that will for always be a huge part of our hearts and lives.
The children absolutely love going and ask if we can go visit again often. It’s always a big adventure. Archie has even asked if we can move there he loves it so much. He’s such an outdoorsy boy.
