The project originally took its name from a poem by Kahlil Gibran, “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” and every Monday we share a moment from our week and invite others to do the same as part of this linky.
I nearly missed this week of joining in with Donna’s Linky because it has gone so fast and I cannot believe we are coming to the end of the 3rd week of our summer holidays. I said to my sister in law today after next week we only have over a week left, it seems crazy to think all the summer fun is nearly over. We have loved our summer fun so much. Its been so full of so much fun and happy days. I am so thankful for all the adjustments we have made over the course of the year gone, and for our wonderful new life here in Wales. Dan has worked away for some of it but its not been too bad and we’ve kept ourselves busy.
Our lovely friends from Kent came down to visit us and we visited Bewilderwood Cheshire. Its really huge and I took my camera but as soon as I took the first photo my battery died. So I leave you with this a photo of Arthur on a swing at Bewilderwood. The kids had a lovely time and they said their favourite was the Den building which we only went to last, next time we will definitely head there first.
We recently went to the beautiful Surf Snowdonia to meet my family to celebrate my nephews birthday. Its only a short distance from our house so was lovely to be able to drive over and see them. They recently came up for a few days to explore some of Wales, although we were only able to see them for one day as we already had plans. I took some beautiful photos of everyone, mainly the children to mark the occasion. I had not seen my family since the beginning of June when we went to Kent to visit, so it was lovely to see them.
We went to Surf Snowdonia so the big two could go on the Ninja Assault Course and Indoor Extreme Slides, they had the best time. I was so proud of Sophia as she attempted the really big slide. She really hates anything scary so this was a huge thing for her. The little two, Arthur and Noah went to soft play while the others did their session on the ninja assault course.
After we were finished there we went to Forest Coaster at Zip World which we recommended to my family as we had been before and all had a blast. Its great because Arthur can go on as well, he is 3 and he loves it such a little adrenaline junkie. Me or Dan just go with him and he enjoys it so much. Its so fun, we definitely recommend. We headed off to dinner after our day out and then mum came to stay with us for two days following which was really lovely.
We actually just went on a couple of walks while mum was here and chilled. On the last day of her visit she took us out for lunch and gave Sophia, Archie and Arthur some spending money as its the summer holidays. We all had a lovely time.
Since moving to Wales a year ago, I don’t see mum often of course but when I do see her and she comes here to visit I quite like it as we get a full two days with her as opposed to a couple hours here and there when we lived closer. It does seem we get more quality time now that we live further away funnily enough. The time together feels more special then before and I have a deeper appreciation for our relationship too. I hope you are all having a lovely summer so far and making the most beautiful memories in the most simplest of ways. Everyday is beautiful even the simple home days, they are some of the most special of all.
