The Elf on the Shelf – Girl Elf Edition

Look what arrived in the post for us. I think I am more excited than my children are going to be to see this cute little elf.

Sophia is four now, so the fun really begins! Christmas traditions can really
start taking place in our family because of her age and she is loving every waking moment talking about Christmas this year.

The elf came beautifully presented in her box along with the book. I also bought the DVD: An Elf’s Story: Based on the Bestseller; the Elf on the Shelf.

I think this is one of the most exciting and magical times of being a mum being able to relive your childhood memories of Christmas and help bring them alive for your own child, possibly even extending on what you were brought up with.

Being brought up in South Africa I had sunny Christmas’s with a braai (BBQ) to boot! So Christmas magic was never really real until we moved to England when I was 10 and I enjoyed the snow and enjoyed pretending Santa was real. Mum really did make Christmas special for my two sisters and I. Santa would leave his footprints in talcum powder and eat some of our carrots, and always left us a note to say thank you. Great memories, I am trying to make great ones for my children

What great memories do you have of Christmas with your family?
