We took a visit to Chiddingstone Castle, a favourite of ours, mostly because of the beautiful grounds and tea rooms. The children ran around while we enjoyed Sunday afternoon tea. The staff were extremely friendly and made our stay extra special. We were lucky because today was extra sunny, no coats needed. We enjoyed the beautiful warm sun, eating scones and drinking tea. The children enjoyed lots of running and some apple juice. it really was perfect.
For a small venue it is a lovely visit, we enjoyed ourselves for a good 2-3 hours, walking around in good time and drinking tea, we didn’t look inside the castle either, this would have taken more time.
Chiddingstone castle also host some great public events, one which we visited recently this September, and watched The Dog and Duck Show which we all really enjoyed. Stuart Barnes was fantastic, he involved the children and kept the adults entertained. It was a really good day with lots of good food and an all round great country show with some really beautiful stalls to look at, including vintage clothing, plants, hand crafted items, live demonstrations and animals such as owls, chickens, horses, and ponies. The children really enjoyed themselves, and even had a go at coconut shy.
Chiddingstone castle is a hidden gem, it is tucked away in the country lanes. We were actually recommended to visit by our friends, and only discovered it this September. We are so happy that we did because we really enjoyed it so very much. A fun family day out, and so much lovely wilderness for the children to explore.
Here is some lovely footage I captured of our day at Chiddingstone Caste. We can’t wait to visit again. Thank you so much for having us!
