We recently redesigned our kitchen and fitted a new one. I have said in my last post that we are keen to enjoy Christmas before any more home DIY projects or room re-designing.
I just cant help looking at Pinterest for inspiration. We are definitely going to be decorating our bedroom next as it majorly needs to be done. It is a nice size and very bright as they window is at the front of the house, and mostly all day the sun streams in, so that is lovely.
The walls are currently covered in old white bumpy wallpaper which needs stripping ( I am really looking forward to using the steam machine to strip the walls!) We did this in our last home, I wasn’t as in to DIY then, but have developed much more of an interest in DIY since moving here. I think we are going to paint the walls, as we like the fresh and neat look of a newly painted wall.
We currently have built in wardrobes which we will be getting rid of and getting new. I also need to look at new bed frames as we currently have the Ikea Malm in dark brown which we might keep but I have been looking around as possibly would like a white bed.
We may be going for white walls too, so if we do we may keep our bed frame, but we have not completely decided yet. I have another idea up my sleeve and that is to have a board/pallet effect on the wall that the bed headboard sits and paint that white. And have the rest of the room a very pale grey colour. Here are some examples of a pallet feature wall:
I want the room to be completely minimalistic with a mirror, a shell mobile which I made myself, wardrobes, and a couple of shelves. But we will see. It is so exciting re-designing a room in your home. I find the most fun part is looking at ideas and getting inspiration. So I have really enjoyed browsing Pinterest. You can go and have a look at my bedroom inspiration board if you want to. I also really love this idea of a mirror either side of a feature wall. Looks as though it would give the illusion of more space.
I have seen that you can shop at Bedstar for a double bed, and they offer some great deals. Which suit us well. They offer competitive prices and home delivery, so once we have decided on a date to go ahead with our bedroom makeover I will be looking at the Bedstar website especially if we decide to go for a white bed frame.
I am looking forward to starting our next project, but of course looking forward to resting over December and tackling this in the new year!
Have you got any room re-designing planned in the near future, I would love to know what you are planning?

Yes me too! It is great inspiration but as always so many lovely pictures, you can get carried away and loose sight of your theme! xx
They all look fab, and will I think be really calming – just what you want a bedroom to be. Love those large pom poms in the first picture, what a fab idea 🙂
Sounds interesting, loving the pictures you have found for inspiration, very clean lines and minimalist like you say. I also like the airy white/neutral/grey colour schemes. I am sure yours will look just as fab when you go ahead x
So many lovely ideas! It will be hard to choose. I love the second photo you have listed. I’ve never seen the boards on the wall look, it’s quite nice! Good luck with your decoration! x
I do love Pinterest for inspiration but now I find that Instagram inspires me more. I love the looks that you are going for clean and minimalist and not too fussy.
I love the look of all the bedrooms and couldn’t really settle on any one. Have a fabulous break over Christmas and I look forward to seeing what you decdecide.
Love all of these ideas Hun. I desperately want a white minimalist bedroom, but it’s just too small and dark. We are stuck here for a while longer while we sort out our finances etc so I’ll leave all of my decorating for when we move! Xx
Just been having a look around your site, even though this post is from 2015, it is still relevant because of the timeless white and style!
