It seems that recently there has been a rise in adult colouring books. I went into Waterstones the other day and there were so many beautifully displayed adult colouring books and I wanted one! Redan Publishing has come up with an adult colouring magazine, which is more accessible to many people, and a lovely well priced gift.
I was lucky enough to be sent one. Cool, Calm, Create is pre-school specialists, Redan Publishing’s first magazine to target adults. The magazine itself does not feel like a magazine and is quiet thick considering. It looks and feels like a normal colouring book, bar the hardback.
The magazine has 68 pages of intricate colouring spreads designed to help focus the mind and aid relaxation. The colouring book is filled with beautiful designs, bespoke patterns, mandalas and tangles. This particular issue has a marine and ocean theme and comes with a free cover-mounted gift of 5 colouring pencils. It is the perfect gift to pick up and go and an ideal travel companion for summer holidays too. Sophia already has her eye on it!
Julie Jones, Joint Managing Director commented, “As a specialist in children’s magazines we are well practiced in producing colouring pages, so we are delighted that adults are catching on to what children have known for years – colouring makes you feel good! With Calm, Colour, Create we have produced a monthly colouring title that not only gives readers the therapeutic benefits of detailed colouring, but also a sense of achievement in creating some really stunning patterns and images that they can be justly proud of, with the added benefit of free colouring pencils to get started.”
I think the added free gift of colouring pencils is a bonus, as I don’t actually have any colouring pencils myself. So this is a great added extra.
Calm, Colour, Create also has its own social media page on Facebook. Where you can share your own creations and comment on others.
Calm, Colour, Create Magazine will retail at £4.99 and is aimed at anyone with an interest in colouring. It will be available on selected newsstands from 30th July, 2015.
