Soon it will be Mothers Day and I cant wait to celebrate it as mum to my three beautiful children who I love so much. Funky Pigeon very kindly sent me these personalised gifts for Mothers day. I love my personalised mug and the chocolates were so yummy and I love that they were personalised with a beautiful picture of my trio.
Do you ever get those moments when you look around you, you take stock and you appreciate all the love you have around you. I do this often. Where I am almost lost for breathe at how much I love our life together. We have each other, the five of us and I never ever want this little phase in our life to end.
Isn’t life beautiful, I love basking in the simple everyday moments and Mothers day is just another excuse to celebrate a day of adventuring with my family. Life is about giving, it’s also receiving love, its happiness, its kindness, its connections, it’s learning growing and expanding your mind and your love for all you have around you. It is so many things. So many feelings.
We forget to be grateful everyday and we don’t really realise how extraordinary all the day to day stuff really is. It’s special. Waking up to your children and husband every morning is a gift. Their little bed heads and asking for their jam and butter on toast: ‘mummy please help me get dressed I’m tired’. ‘Mummy where are my school trousers?’ ‘Mummy put my telly on’, ‘Mummy my laces’.
All the mummy’s, the wanting of you, as they grow older they get quieter and the wants and needs of me are different and ever changing with every year that passes.
You see why Mothers day is the most beautiful day. It is the celebration of you as a mother to your wonderful child/children. It’s a day to take a moment, take a breathe, and look at all you’ve grown and that you’ve nurtured and come to realise just how amazing you are for doing it all.
You’ve done it, you do it every day and you want it. You want all of motherhood in all its glory, the ups and the downs and in-betweens.
For the last five years on my blog I have written a mothers day post and looking back at them I see just how drastically life around me has changed. Yet here I am with even more love and gratitude for the family unit my husband and I have grown together. Because really we are a team and I couldn’t do it without him. When I wrote my first two Mothers Day posts my parents were still together and our lives were very different.
Life is ever changing and we have to see the beauty in that, in watching our children grow, see their milestones, congratulate them and most of all nurture their individual happiness. All three of mine find their happiness in different ways. I love that and they each teach me so much.
It was really so special to work with Funky Pigeon on this post and thank you to my children for always making every mothers day so extremely special for me. There is not a day that goes by I do not feel the love you all have for me.
Funky pigeon have some beautiful personalised gifts on their websites little keepsakes for you and for your mothers. I really loved my personalised chocolates from Funky Pigeon and we will all enjoy my chocolates together.
Whatever you choose to do for Mothers day whether it’s a lie in and breakfast in bed you request or a lovely day out, enjoy it. You deserve to be spoilt. Take a moment to appreciate all that you have and do for those around you. Appreciate you, because you do so much everyday. And from one mum to another I see you, I hear you and I am in awe of you.
