Just last week I wrote a review of our stay at The Spa Hotel in Tunbridge Wells. I did a review of the room we stayed in and I did a post describing our stay and what it meant to us as a couple. I am now here with Part Two as I have a few more snaps to show you and how the rest of our stay went.
In the evening we enjoyed a lovely dinner in Zagatos Bar, we also had lunch in there earlier in the day which was delicious. For our dinner reservation we had a table at the back of the restaurant, which was next to a radiator. It was nice and toasty, I love being warm. We enjoyed a candle lit dinner and some seriously scrumptious food.
Daniel had the burger and chips which he really enjoyed and said it was one of the best burgers he has had. I am a vegetarian so was looking forward to seeing what was on the menu for me, there were about four or so different meals to choose from for me, which I was pleased with as they all sounded delicious.
I ended up going for the sea bass and roasted fennel recommended by our lovely waiter Nathan. We were served by two waiters Nathan and Alex who were fantastic, really professional and also so friendly. They really are an asset to The Spa Hotel. It is always lovely to be served by such enthusiastic people. They made sure our meal was okay for us and brought us extra sauces. We were really impressed with their professional and friendly attitude. Thank you to both for making our meal so enjoyable and for the great service.
Daniel and I had time to talk over dinner and discuss our beautiful children. You can take the parents away from their children but you will forever be thinking and talking about them. We actually spoke about how lucky we feel to have such wonderful parents who enjoy spending time with their grandchildren. We spoke of how proud we are of both of our little ones, how each day no matter what they make us smile and bring so much love into our lives.
When you are so busy with daily life and the rush and challenges of early morning wake ups and deadlines it can be hard to sit and appreciate the small things. Thinking about where you are and how far you have come is secondary most of the time. As individuals and as a family we have evolved so much over the years. It is lovely to appreciate how happy we are and albeit the challenges we stay strong and face life as a team.
When we first arrived at The Spa Hotel Daniel and I sat quietly through lunch and just took in our surroundings. But by the time dinner came we couldn’t stop chatting to each other. We shared some deep and meaningful conversation and that is something so important to us as a couple. I had the most wonderful time with him just really enjoying his company and remembering how much we do have in common, something which is easy to forget when life takes over.
After our very comfortable sleep we woke up well rested and went to breakfast at 8am. We were served by the restaurant manager Deniz. He was fantastic and we had some great conversation with him. Learning that his name actually means ocean in Turkish, which I thought was beautiful as when we chose names for our children we researched the meanings well, before naming them. This was something that was also very important to us when it came to naming both of our children.
Deniz went out of his way to make our experience in the restaurant perfect, and it was. The food was lovely and we left feeling extremely satisfied.
I had a latte, and selection of mini croissants to start followed by a cooked breakfast which you were able to choose yourself. Daniel and I thought this was a great feature, being able to order your own breakfast rather then a set menu. Not only did this mean we liked everything on our plate but we ate it all! There was no waste. As I can imagine a hotel of this size must go through a lot of wasted food. However their portion sizes and selection was great.
I had a vegetarian sausage, two poached eggs, two tomatoes, fried bread and mushrooms for my breakfast. Daniel had poached eggs, bacon and mushrooms. We both enjoyed our breakfast. We then headed back to our room to get ready for our treatments which were booked in for 9am.
After an hours rest in our room we took a walk to the Spa. We were greeted by the lovely Lauren who asked us to fill in our consent forms and after a few minutes we met our therapists and were taken to the treatment rooms.
The room I had my facial in was beautiful and so relaxing. It had low lighting and candles around the room which gave the room a great ambience and I couldn’t wait to receive my treatment.
My therapist was Bryony and she was absolutely amazing. She made me feel so relaxed and so comfortable. She was calm and professional. I had an hour treatment with her and it was the perfect amount of time to enjoy the facial. I have only previously had two facials but can honestly say this was one of the best I have had.
The products smelt beautiful, I could actually smell the lavender in the lotions and cleanses, just a beautiful scent for a massage. Lavender is calming, so the perfect scent for a facial. She applied the right amount of pressure and I enjoyed the massage she gave me on my neck and shoulders along with the facial. I came away feeling amazing. My skin felt silky smooth and completely pampered.
My husband had a full body massage with Katrina and he said it was amazing. He has a physical job where he is on his feet all day. He is always doing something a lot of lifting and working with his hands so I thought this would be a great treatment to help him relax and de-stress his body. It certainly did and he was very impressed with his treatment.
We both came away wishing we had more time at The Spa Hotel to enjoy all of the facilities available and the other treatments offered. Our time at the hotel just went too fast! Once you settle down and start to relax it is nice to do this over a few days to really give your body a rest. So next time we will definitely stay longer so we can take full advantage of everything on offer at The Spa Hotel.
Once our treatments were complete we looked around the Spa area, there was a 10m pool and two gym areas.
There was a separate corridor which lead to the treatment rooms. There is also a steam room to enjoy and a separate male and female sauna. We were really impressed with the facilities offered by The Spa Hotel.
There was so much on offer with the two separate places to eat, Zagatos Bar and the main restaurant. There are beautiful gardens to look at and a well equipped hotel room with a television, beautiful views and of course wifi.
We had such a relaxing spa break and would like to sincerely thank everyone at The Spa Hotel who made our stay so comfortable and so enjoyable. Daniel and I came away feeling so lucky to have been able to spend a night in such a wonderful hotel. We have already recommend The Spa Hotel to all our family and friends and we will definitely be visiting again.
* We were offered a complimentary stay at The Spa Hotel in exchange for this review. We payed for our lunch and dinner ourselves. We have wanted to visit The Spa Hotel for some time now so this was a very much anticipated trip.
