Corners of our home {Home Etc #83}

With all the building works going on in our house at the moment I think it is good therapy to focus on the things I do love about our home regardless off the mess around us.

I am going to share a few corners of my home and the reasons I love them. Here is a little corner of the children’s room. One of my favourite corners in our home because it displays a few of their works of art. It is a little cluttered on the window but it is good clutter. These are little ornaments they had made themselves at a pottery shop. Every time I walk into their room or when I am tidying their ornaments always make me smile.

The orange dinosaur and the unicorn are their money boxes. I picked these up from Paperchase. I really love them.

I am also completely in love with any sort of fairy light at the moment. I love these ball ball lights I think they are so lovely. They are especially good for the children as a night light as the light is quite dull. Also they are battery operated so moving them around the house is so easy. I picked these up from Lidl’s and I just love them they were a steal at £6.99 too. I only got them this weekend gone so I am sure they still have plenty.

The next corner of my house that I love is my blogging table. It is my little space to come and do my writing, my work, and to set an intention for the day or month ahead.

I love the simplicity of the space. I brought two sets of the lights and think the other set looks lovely here on my desk. I love white too it is a colour that makes me feel so relaxed and calm. If I could and if it wasn’t so plain I would have my whole house white!

The third and final little corner of my house that I will be sharing in this post is a corner of my bedroom. We have yet to redecorate this room. It needs a complete overhaul, but for the time being I wanted to add a few things to it to make it feel more homely and cosy.

I bought these fairy lights from Amazon and I was so pleased with them when they arrived. They plug into the mains so a little annoying as you can see the cord but other then that in the evenings with just them on it really makes the room feel so warm and so cosy. It is the children’s favourite place to sit and read or watch their iPads late evenings. I finally framed some wedding photos. I have yet to print some more. But I thought these two would look lovely in our room. I really love them.

I look so forward to finally redecorating this room and getting a new bed and furniture. I want to utilise the space as much as possible so that all my things have a place.  But all in good time. Hopefully not too much longer and our house will be complete. I look so forward to the summer for that reason, long days and evenings and a lot warmer which means we can work on the house for much longer. It gets dark as soon as my husband arrives home at the moment and that leaves us little to no time to do any sort of work on the house.

I hope you enjoyed this post. I thought it would be nice to concentrate on the positives because it can get pretty frustrating at times while you are building on your house. I do love our home and bit by bit we are getting there which is such a nice feeling.

    I love bargains, especially for the home but it makes it even better if they’re good too. I’m always skeptics buying lights from cheaper places but you’ve convinced me that these are good. I saw some similar actually, and I was eyeing that Dino money Pot for Phoenix too, LOVE paper chase! X

    Love the lights on your desk. I also like the fairy lights. Lovely wedding photos too. Our bedroom will be the last room we sort in our house but I could do with putting some photos up and now I’m thinking fairy lights too. #homeetc

    Love fairy lights. The only thing that annoys me about things like that is replacing the batteries constantly.

    We are in the process of a garage conversion so I can understand the mess and clutter with work going on, it feels like we have had workmen here constantly since we moved in with one thing and another, I can’t wait to get finished. I love those lights, I might have to take a look in our Lidl and see if we have any left. x #homeetc

    Aaah just think how AMAZING it’s going to be when it’s done though!!! It’s going to be FAB!!! 🙂 But, in the meantime, I love the idea of focussing on tiny corners that make you smile, whilst all the building work is going on around your ears. Love the wedding photos especially — made me say ‘aaaaaaah!!!’ 🙂 Cxx #HomeEtc
