As we are due to have another beautiful baby in December Daniel and I have been trying to come up with a solution for more room for the children. We decided to give them the master bedroom and we take their smaller bedroom. We have had their bedroom for just over a month now and they are very much enjoying having the larger bedroom, we also quite like the luxury of having a lovely new carpet too. So we are really pleased with our new spaces.
With the new bedroom move for them I wanted to do a whole new theme in their room and make it really cosy and homely for them. I think it also puts their little mark on their space and they both love it in there. They spend hours playing together. We also brought them new beds which I really love, as their old ones really needed replacing. I think their new beds have a really nice feel and they both love them.
Blue Duvet | Pink Duvet | Beds | Bedside Table | Name Letters | Cactus| Night Lights | Fairy lights
We were really pleased to receive these beautiful Nordic inspired duvet sets from Ollie and Leila, you can have a look at their full range of lovely children’s beds. Sophia and Archie absolutely love them, as do I. I think the soft pastel colours and the nordic inspired design look really lovely together. I especially love the aztec pattern on the other side. You can easily use this side for the top too.
I really try to live by the idea that less is more. The more space the better and the less clutter the clearer your mind and the less your stress levels. At least that is just how it is for me. So when I went about giving their room a new theme and positioning their beds I tried to be really thoughtful as to what to include in their room and what to either chuck out, give to charity or put in the attic for memories.
They both have so many trinkets and little collectable items that they both have either collected from charity shops or from going to the pottery shop and painting.
If I had kept all of their items out I think it would have looked a bit like a shop. So I had to be a little strict with everything I decided to keep in their room.
I am really so pleased with how it has turned out. Especially as this is the one room (expect the hallway as its not finished yet) that we haven’t redecorated and re plastered yet so it needs a lot of work still which you cant see in the pictures. This little corner with their beds and their lights, it really is a little sanctuary for them and it makes me so happy that they have their own little space.
In the evenings after bath time they love to lay in their beds and read books, or for me or Daniel to read to them. I also dim the lights for them and pop their night lights on and its just a really lovely atmosphere in their room. It is so cosy.
A few of the things I tried to keep in mind when going ahead with the Nordic theme:
Keep it as minimal as possible,
Lots of lightning to add a really lovely cosy feel, I love fairy lights.
I had to add a bedside table for a little personality and somewhere to keep their favourite books at the moment which is David Walliams’: “The Worlds Worst Children 1 and 2”. They really are fantastic stories and Sophia and Archie love them. Their particularly love the story about Hubert the Hungry Baby! I do too, it is really funny.
So there it is their new little space which we are all really pleased with. We will make the most of it until we decide to strip it all and redecorate in time for our new baby needing his own room.
I hope everyone is enjoying their summer holidays. I cant believe we are already three weeks in. It has gone so quickly for us.

This room is so simple yet beautiful! So often you see bright white everything rooms with no character. This is minimal, clear and clean but with character too. I love it.
It’s always a struggle to find enough room for it all, isn’t it. I love what you’ve done with the room, lovely space for children. I also shared a bedroom with my little sis and it was great, at least we weren’t scared at night 🙂
Aww this looks so cosy and cute. I love the bed sheets and the use of fairy lights 🙂

I absolutely love this style! I am looking for ideas at the moment for Alex’s bedroom so loving this kind of post!
It does look really nice and simple. I think your nice wooden floor boards really help to achieve this Nordic style. What a cheeky cat you have too :)))
those duvets are beautiful! I am looking to upgrade the nursery for the toddler to something a little more grown up so will be taking a look at these closer.
