We recently went to Wales in the February half term to visit our family. We try to go as often as we can as Sophia and Archie’s cousin lives there. The children absolutely love going and always get so excited to go and visit her, its one of their favourite trips.
When we visited this February half term we visited quite a few lovely places. It was freezing but so nice to get out. We visited Lake Vyrnwy which we have visited on our previous trips to Wales and it is just as pretty as I had remembered. I love the loud deep sound of the water running.
I love this photo of Daniel and Archie. Archie was a very happy little boy to have his daddy off work for four whole days. He spent most of the walk right by his side asking him lots and lots of questions about everything. Archie is very inquisitive and curios and loves to find out as much as he can. We find ourselves googling a lot of the answers as sometimes we honestly don’t know. For example what does a hippo eat and do hippo’s live in lakes. Hippo’s are actually vegetarians! Which I didn’t actually know so as long as my little Archie is around I find out something new everyday.
It was absolutely freezing but the children enjoyed playing in the Mud Kitchen and play area. After a little walk around and playing with poppy the dog we went for a nice hot drink. You will never guess what the children decided to get on such a freezing cold day!
They all got an ice cream. Thats what they really wanted. The do make me laugh. Us adults were more sensible and got a hot drink. I got a lovely hot chocolate.
I made a real effort to take some photos with Daniel because being parents to our three mean we rarely get any photos together. It was nice to have him off for four days with us. We love it when we are all together. He always makes our days fun, full of adventure and lots of laughter.
Arthur was bundled up all warm, but he still managed to catch a little cold bless him. He looks very comfy here sleeping on the sofa in the cafe.
We spent a lot of our time at my sister in laws house too, lots of late morning and yummy home cooked breakfasts and late evenings. It was nice to all be together. We don’t really live close so when we see each other its really nice as it always feels like we haven’t seen each other in so long.
We also visited Chirk Castle, somewhere I had not been before and I just loved it. We didn’t go inside the castle on this visit as it was shut, but we went for a long walk around the grounds and it was beautiful. I love looking around gardens as do the children, especially as they get to explore and run around in the fresh air. Being outdoors is one of their favourite things to do. Especially in the warmer months we spend a lot of our time outdoors.
I also got a picture with my sister in law. Which is very rare these days as we don’t live close. I think the only photos we have together are from our nights out when I actually used to have a social life in the evenings. Not that I mind at all I don’t really miss going out in the evenings really, I am quite a home body and enjoy staying home with my family and a takeaway over going out any day.
So those are all the lovely pictures from our trip to wales. We had such a lovely time again making so many lovely memories with our family. I know my children wont every forget our little holidays to Wales.
I also vlogged our time away which I will include below if you would like to have a little watch:
I also wrote about our previous trips to wales which I will link below too if you would like to have a read. It is also lovely to see how much the children grown up each time we have visited.
