A Little Trip to Marbella {Part One}

We recently went away for the weekend to Marbella to celebrate a friends 30th birthday. We went without the children and I was a little nervous to leave them for such a while as we have only ever left them for two days before, and that was to attend a friends wedding.

We left early hours of Friday morning and had a return flight late Sunday evening. We gave them a big kiss Archie wasn’t worried and couldn’t wait to get to granny’s house, but Sophia did cry and it did break my heart. But I also know once she was at granny’s house she would have such a lovely time.

The trip to Marbella was a very last minute decision and all planning was last minute. My sister travels a lot and had previously used Airbnb. We also used Airbnb when we went along with her and my mum to Cyprus. Because of this I felt Airbnb would be the best option for somewhere affordable and last minute having had such great experiences previously.

We found a beautiful apartment which was practically right on the beach in Marbella. To say it was beautiful would be an understatement. On arriving home and having time to reflect on our trip, it is clear we were really lucky with our accommodation. The price was fantastic for all of us (we went in 3 couples)  and it was just a two minute walk to the beach, and about a ten minute walk into Puerto Banus. Everything we needed was so close, even a little shop to get essentials like milk and tea was just a short walk up the road. The apartments interior design was beautiful and lots of personal touches around the home, we did admire the big clock and the pictures.

One of the most beautiful parts of the apartment was the staircase, we live in a bungalow so having a staircase on holiday was a little bit lovely.

Let me show you around the Apartment, It was very clean and kept to a high standard. It had 3 separate bedrooms which all had their own towels laid on the bed ready for us, I thought this was a lovely touch.

All bedrooms had separate beds, but I did find with most of the apartments on Airbnb in Marbella that most had single beds. But this wasn’t a problem for us and the beds were comfy. The apartment had two bathrooms, 3 toilets, a kitchen which had a separate laundry room, which was handy to wash your clothes depending how long you are staying for.

The apartment had wifi, although it was a little slow. It had it’s own private garden and living area with a television and seating, a dinning table too. A breakfast table and bar seating in the kitchen. It was the perfect apartment. Perfect for both a couples holiday and a family. It was so quiet at night which meant we had a great sleep.

It really was in the perfect location. We were able to have a quiet holiday and just a short walk or taxi drive to a busy night life. Taxi was only about 10 euros into Puerto Banus.

I have said to Mr T how very much I would love to take the children here, we just need to decide when to go. It was beautiful and I have lots more photos to share, consisting of the beautiful views, the beaches we visited and to show you what we got up to around Marbella.

    I can’t wait to read about the rest of the trip. I bet Marbella itself is stunning. We’re currently doing a month long trip around Europe using only Air BnB’s. It is amazing what you can find, some of them are so stunning. This one is beautiful. x

    That is a gorgeous place. I never tried out airbnb before but it can be so handy especially if you were on holidays with the kids. Sometimes on hotel bedroom can be very crammed. Glad the kids weren’t worried. It’s only healthy to be away from them.

    That was a lovely apartment. Getting a good hotel room or a house like this makes the holidays such a breeze. I have heard nice things about AirBnb but have never tried myself. Maybe I should!
