We were recently invited to spend the weekend at Holmsley Campsite in the New Forest.
We were all very excited, as it is not something we do often. We went camping with Sophia when she was 8 months old in Norfolk. Not something she would remember, so she was really excited to be going camping. Archie enjoys going anywhere as long as he is with the three of us. I have fond memories of camping with my parents when I was a child. When we found out the weather forecast we were pretty disappointed to see that it was going to be raining! But, we went anyway keeping our fingers crossed the weather forecast may be wrong!
We were pleasantly surprised that the weather turned out to be wonderful. It did rain in the evening but we were all warm and tucked up in our tents asleep so didn’t even realise.
Archie enjoyed playing outdoors as both my children always do. He managed to hurt his finger on the grass, Daniel and I couldn’t figure out what he had done, he was very upset.
The children enjoyed bug hunting, forest exploration, woodland foraging, and games.
During our stay Sophia made some lovely friends who she got on so well with. She was able to go to the shop and to a little forest area in front of us with her friends, it was so close to our tent I could keep an eye out for her and it was lovely to know she was so safe and could have a little more independence. She really loved this about our camping trip, it was so lovely to see her so happy.
Sophia and Archie spent the whole day outside, our children were so tired they fell asleep around 6.30pm!
All in all we had a great trip to the New Forest and made some beautiful forever memories. Thank you very much to Camping In The Forest for having us.
