We have recently returned home from a lovely family holiday to Mallorca, we stayed in a little town called Santanyi in Cala D’or which we fell in love with. It was absolutely beautiful and we loved every aspect of our holiday. I would definitely recommend Cala D’or for a family holiday it is brilliant and everything is so close by. It makes your holiday really lovely because you have so many options and places to explore.
We travelled with Jet2 Holidays because we had heard some really good things and their prices were really competitive. They offer package deals and run everything through jet2 from the airline to transfers its all the same company and I really liked that. I really can only say good things about them I was really happy with the service we received from start to finish. The only thing I would say is that in our area they only fly from Stansted not from Gatwick or Heathrow. We really like Gatwick so that was a shame but I think they could offer cheaper flight this way, I’m assuming thats why they only use Stansted, but I am not sure that is only me guessing.
It is only a two and a half hour flight and the kids were amazing all three of them, it felt like as soon as we were in the air we were landing again, it was great and very quick.
It was also a short transfer time, we were advised when booking it can take up to 1 hour 45 mins but there weren’t a lot of people on our coach and so I assume this is why it was so quick. If I remember correctly I think it took 40 minutes to get to our hotel from Palma Mallorca airport. As you can see we were all shattered, everyone fell asleep apart from me.
I am sure you can guess what we did as soon as we got there? On the kids request we got in our swimming costumes and went straight to the pool.
We spent a little time there and then came back to our rooms and got showered and dressed to have an explore of the place around our hotel. It was the perfect location and was lovely to see the town and village as we drove in on our transfer as well.
Once we were ready that evening we went for a walk down to the local beach which was about 30 seconds walk from our hotel. It was perfect, such a beautiful beach with a bar and restaurant on the beach too which we loved. This was only open in the day time.
The beach was just beautiful and I could happily have spent everyday here. This was the beach in Santanyi. Just beautiful.
The next morning we planned a full beach day and just enjoyed swimming, the children played in the sand, we had lunch at the beach restaurant, which served burgers, hotdogs, toasties and sandwiches. They also do a lovely coffee, yes I am that person who gets a coffee on the beach!
These have to be my favourite photos of the three of them, they look so sweet. Love them so much. I think actually the only photos I captured of the three of them they were to busy most of the time.
We spent a lot of our time on this beach and really enjoyed the little man who visited everyday with his wheelbarrow of fruit, we got a watermelon and pineapple, nothing better then fresh fruit on a hot summers day.
I fell in love with the views on the beach, they were absolutely stunning. So pretty and so full of colour, the colour of the ocean and the landscape are so beautiful here. I feel so lucky to be able to take my little ones to places like this. Travelling is so eye opening and I’m so glad I get to share it with my three children I hope that we can do a lot more travelling together.
This was one of my favourite moments my little Arthur falling asleep on me. It was so lovely, we were under the shade of the umbrella and it was warm with a lovely cool breeze as it was later in the afternoon. I wont forget this moment, I am all to aware of how quickly time goes.
We made some amazing memories on the first two days of our holiday and settled in really well. I will also be sharing a part two because I have so many lovely photos to share of the rest of the trip.
Here is a little vlog of the first two days in Mallorca and Arthur’s first ever time on the beach and putting his little feet into the water.
