Just recently we went to one of our favourite places, Bedgebury Pinteum and Forest, it was just the four of us and it was a beautiful day. The sun was shinning, not a cloud to be seen. The sky was a clear and beautiful bright blue you could look up and get lost in the expanse above, almost let it engulf you whole. I let the heat envelop me and I heard the soft songs of the birds singing from all angles.
I walked along the dusty path , Sophia’s hand in mine. Archie was on his daddy’s shoulders and I had my camera equipment in the other hand. I had made sure I brought it with as I knew I would probably find a beautiful backdrop for our family photos.
We haven’t actually been to Bedgebury for a while now having being so busy so it was actually lovely to get away the four of us and come here. It is somewhere we love very much. It is family friendly and just a joy to walk around. Every corner you turn is filled with wild and beautiful trees and plants, you can hear laughter from other people enjoying themselves from everywhere, young children shouting as they race their dads’ on bikes.
We soon came to a quite spot to take our photos, I had been determined we would join in with the Me and Mine project this month so made sure I got plenty of photos of the four of us, I will share more of them at the end of the month.
Archie and Sophia both posed for me, they do enjoy me taking photos of them most of the time! I am so very thankful because I get to keep these photos and these words in our own little family memory box that I can look at whenever I want to. I can go back to it and open up those feelings and emotions from that time years ago and I can be reminded of the joy we created then. It reminds me to keep creating it now and to keep living each day as it comes, keep living in the moment and keep striving to capture as much as I can.
We walked a lot at Bedgebury, we went into the forest and found a tee-pee we played together Sophia casting spells on her brother and Mr T and Archie playing sword fights with sticks.
We decided to venture further in so that we could come out the other side and cut a long bit of the walk out unfortunately we faced a red ants nest. Not our smartest move as parents they were biting my feet and the children’s and there were tears and screams. But we got out and dusted the red ants off, as much as we were relived and the children still petrified we just laughed. Mr T and I at how silly that was and how intense. Those red ants sure pack a nasty pinch. Archie now has a phobia of ants thanks to us, a major parenting fail! But I am sure he will come around and I will keep telling him not all ants bite.
It was a lovely day out, I cannot tell you how much I love our family days out. There is something so satisfying about being out in the beautiful weather with Mr T and our two little children. They are at such a wonderful age where all they want to do is explore and investigate they are so curious about everything. Through it all it is them who make Mr T and I laugh, encourage us to be children again, climb trees, run from the gruffalo and have stick fights! Watching them intensifies our love we grow stronger and we are reminded how precious life is. I will always hold onto the good times and I will always remind myself how amazing it is to be alive. They certainly have given us a new lease of life in so many ways. Everyday I am grateful for the three people who make my world a better place.
I cant wait for our next family day out. We are planning a trip to Legoland soon, we are just waiting for the weather to perk up a bit!
