Now that Sophia and Archie are a little older, being 6 and 3 means we have a shorter list of travel must haves, which is nice. Less things for mummy to remember to pack. I do remember one of our first holidays as a family when Sophia was just 9 months old, we flew to Portugal and I completely overpacked. I think I came home with half a case of clean unused clothes.
As a family when we travel our holiday must haves are pretty simple I would say. So I will get started and tell you what they are.
1. Firstly when we travel we love to visit somewhere sunny, there is nothing better then feeling the hot sun on you, especially in a country you may have never been before.
2.Two is the ocean, we absolutely love swimming whether it be the beach or the pool it is just so lovely to spend lots of time in the water on holiday. We all enjoy it so much. My children are such water babies and absolutely love the water as do Daniel and I. I have fond memories as a child both learning to swim and swimming in the ocean with my siblings.
3.Three is probably the most important on our list and that is my little family. All four of us. Definitely can’t travel without either of us. We are a little team and love being together.
4.Four is swimming costumes can’t forget these. My most favourite type of swimming costume is something bright and colourful. Although the one bright swimming costume I own is a little small for me now. Which means I would definitely have to invest in a new one.
5.Five is a sun hat for each of us, must keep protected from the sun. I dream of lying on a sun lounger, hat on shading my face, and a good book in hand.
6. Six is a pair of sunglasses. Can’t forget a pair of Sunnies on a sunny beach holiday.
7.Seven is a bucket and spade so we can build sand castles together. One of my fondest memories as a child is playing in the sand and building huge castles and digging huge holes, then watching the waves fall into them. It is lovely to see both Sophia and Archie enjoying the same things I enjoyed as a child.
8.Eight is suncream. It is a must to keep all of our skin protected from the sun especially if we are in the sun for a while.
9. Nine is ice cream. I have such fond memories of our last family holiday and the children could not get enough ice cream neither could Daniel and I actually! Always yummy when the weather is so lovely.
10.And ten is my most favourite and personally my most important (apart from my little family of course) and that is my beloved camera. I absolutely love capturing our adventures together and our memories.
There is nothing I hold closer to my heart. It makes the adventure even more fun and often times I will look back and be reminded. As if a draw in my mind has been opened that was once shut away and forgotten. Memories do that, they have a way to be completely forgotten but with a picture or a video snippet they are so easily recalled into our minds. I love that.
We really enjoyed this project from Mark Warner. Sophia and Archie loved being involved in the crafting. Their holiday must haves consist of, crabs, ice cream and umbrella’s. I love them they really do make me smile.
Thank you so much for reading our post, I have also created a little video. The children and I really enjoyed putting this together for you.
