Hello! I thought I would try a new type of post on my blog today, inspired by some of my lovely blogger friends. That being Jess from Mummy Of Boy Girl Twins (thank you for the inspiration lovely), and I thought the lovely Kerry from Noah and The Girls would like the fact I have a striped top on!
I want to start creating posts that are a little bit more ‘about me’ rather than my usual ‘mummy’ posts. Especially as it is a lifestyle blog. I have always put myself on the back burner. For a very long time now in fact, I have left behind old passions of mine and I want to start investing into those again. I am going to be doing a monthly favourites posts on the things I have been loving lately, whether that be fashion, beauty, books, food, exercise or anything else that takes my fancy.
This month I have still been trying to find my feet and getting back into the swing of the school routine. I have also had plenty to sort out at home due to redecorating the children’s room, as well as doing work bits here and there.
I have fallen in love with interior design recently. It really is not my forty and I did find it a little overwhelming trying to narrow down our style for the children’s room. Pinterest has so much inspiration and gave me so many ideas but it did make it even harder to decide on a theme. It was a fun project and it came together and is more lovely then I imagined. I feel so lucky that we were able to create that space for our children. I cant wait to start our next project. Which will probably be the entrance hall.
My first monthly favourite has to be these cute little bunny slippers I purchased from Tesco’s F&F Clothing range. I just love them. They are so cosy and great for working from home. My feet also get rather cold so it is always nice to keep them toasty.
For a long time now I have not used fake tan at all. I just don’t like how becomes patchy as it fades. I also wanted to try and embrace my ‘natural beauty’ as much as I could and a huge part of that was accepting my pale skin. Something I have never really done. However as the year has gone on I have wanted to invest in a light self tanner, even moisturiser just to help brighten my skin sometimes and I have found the perfect one.
It is the Dove Derma Spa summer revived body lotion. It is a gradual tanner and I try to apply it once a week. I don’t like being too dark and like I said sometimes it feels good to have a little glow. So that is what I use. I haven’t actually put it on for a couple of weeks now.
Another part of my life that I have been absolutely loving this month, definitely a lot more then last month which was just far to hectic and busy for me, is spending the weekends with my children! There is a new sense of calm and routine in our house and it feels really good. The weekends have been absolutely lovely and I have looked forward to them every single week this month. The children are both at a stage that Mr T and I are really enjoying. They are still full of energy and love to run around and play, as they are far more independent we don’t have to be as hands on and that is always a nice feeling.
They may drive me crazy sometimes but I wouldn’t change a moment. I much prefer to have them around then not. I enjoy their company. They help me around the house, (when I beg them!), they shower me in kisses and cuddles and they make me proud daily. I am very lucky and very grateful to be their mum. My life will never be the same thanks to these little monkeys and I am so thankful for that. Though they would never know, they keep me going when I feel sad, spur me on when I feel like giving up and for that I am so grateful. I wont ever take these days for granted. I have found that in order for me to keep on cherishing this stage of my life I need to rekindle my passions and slowly I am starting to do that.
