Today I received my study materials from the Open University. I am going to be studying E301, The Art of English, which will be my last ever Open University Module.
My first impressions are pretty positive; the module books look interesting.
The module looks at creativity in the English language. Overall, I am pleased, the course looks a lot more pleasing then I originally thought. I skimmed through the books and they look great. it all looks very thought provoking. I like reading and learning, especially when it makes me think and question, and feeds my curiosity. I think creativity and life go hand in hand, so exploring this within the English language sounds intriguing.
I am hoping to enjoy this course as much as I think I am, and, as much as my previous one, which was A300, 20th Century Literature: texts and debates, another great course from the Open University. It is always better doing something you enjoy. So fingers crossed.
Can you tell I love the Open University; it has given me the opportunity of a lifetime. To stay at home and do a degree, in hand with becoming a mum, and now, being a mum to two kids. That being said, it has its demands, it’s not easy being at home with two children, and finding the time to study and write assignments. But nobody said anything worth achieving would be easy.
I shall carry on enjoying the challenge, so that I can look back in years to come and feel a sense of satisfaction, that not only did I get to raise my two kids full time, but I accomplished an English Literature and Language Degree, from home.
