A couples retreat at The Spa Hotel Tunbridge Wells | Part one

the spa hotel

the spa hotel My husband Daniel and I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Spa Hotel Royal Tunbridge Wells. We were invited to dine in the brasserie, enjoy the Spa facilities, and spend the night in one of the hotels luxurious rooms. We also had a treatment each which was lovely, we both left the treatment room feeling completely pampered and relaxed.

The Spa Hotel is a unique and lovely country house hotel set in fourteen acres of beautiful land in Tunbridge Wells. It is an elegant hotel and a beautiful wedding venue too. It has 70 bedrooms.

the spa hotel On arrival we were greeted by the lovely Shannon who booked us in and gave us our key, she answered all our questions and was extremely attentive. She gave us the Spa leaflet so we could look at the treatments available, and reserved us a table for dinner at 7pm. She informed us that we were able to log onto The Spa Hotel Wifi. I was extremely impressed that wifi was supplied for all guests free of charge.

We loved the interior design, classy and elegant. How beautiful is the entrance hall? There is such a luxurious feel to every aspect of the hotel, I felt a bit like royalty walking around. The staff were very attentive and looked after us well throughout our stay. There were lounges and rooms at every turn where guests could find a quiet place to talk or enjoy a drink of choice.

The views were tremendous and we ventured outside to have a look on recommendation from one of the lovely members of staff.

Daniel and I have wanted to spend some quality time together for a while somewhere we were able to relax and unwind as much as possible. We haven’t had a night away from the children where we have spent our free time just the two of us for a long time. Nights we have free we have met friends and enjoyed company, so we were really looking forward to our stay for this reason.

We enjoyed being together just the two of us even though we did miss the children terribly, they were in safe hands with their granny so we were able to really let go and unwind as much as possible. We did just that and we really did leave the hotel feeling so completely rejuvenated and refreshed.

The Spa Hotel has so much on offer, from meeting rooms, rooms available to hold conferences and functions as well as beautiful grounds to hold a wedding ceremony. There is so much choice and so much on offer here.

We were here for a couples retreat if you like, to enjoy each others company, indulge and relax in the Spa facilities, enjoy some treatments and be spoilt with a lovely dinning experience. We wanted somewhere quiet to relax and unwind and we got just that and so much more. We were completely impressed with every aspect of our experience.

The views outside were amazing and are perfect for a wedding venue. The gardens are kept to a high standard which would make for perfect wedding photos. The staff were so pleased to show us around which was lovely. There was just such a great ambience to the hotel, and even though it was busy on the day we arrived we were looked after well and greeted by all the staff.

We visited our room as soon as we arrived and we were absolutely blown away. The room was decorated to such a high standard and the furniture was absolutely beautiful. It was a spacious and clean room with plenty of character. I would love a bed like this at home.

I have written a full review of the room with a complete visual tour if you would like to have a look.

I took so many beautiful photos. It was actually very easy to photograph in The Spa Hotel as the interior design was to such a high standard like I said and all rooms so beautifully arranged. It is not to everyones taste but we absolutely loved the class and feel of the hotel. I did say to Daniel that it reminded me of the Titanic, one of my favourite films. The class of that period and the beauty of the finishings, it was just lovely to be surrounded by that.

The bed too was just so beautiful. I posted a photograph on Instagram of it as I just thought it was so beautiful and had to share with you as soon as I had the chance. I had such a lovely sleep too, the bed was so comfortable and so cosy I did not want to get up in the morning. We both slept so well.

There will be a Part Two soon!

*We were offered a complimentary stay at The Spa Hotel in exchange for this review.

Sounds like bliss, we haven’t had a couple’s retreat for absolute ages and if we had someone to mind Emma I would choose a place similar to the Tunbridge Wells, for maximum relaxation!xx
