When you wake up every morning you need to have an intention for the day, to intentionally be happy, productive, and resourceful, to be kind and loving. These are some of things that hold the potential for a really great day.
I never knew the value of time, or the value of a moment in my younger years, but every experience in my life so far, up until this point has shown me how to appreciate every moment, and to understand that everything in your present has value. The present moment is the only reality that exists, so it surely is the only time that really matters. Now matters more than any other time.
I believe that the present is what you wanted from your past; the present is also you creating your future. So the present is truly the most important time in your whole life. Now is the most important time.
I found a beautiful quote the other day, or should I say this quote found me:
We have a hunger of the mind which asks for knowledge of all around us, and the more we gain, the more is our desire; the more we see, the more we are capable of seeing. – Maria Mitchell
The more we really appreciate and value the small things in our lives, the more we are able to see. It really is true. Driving home from our weekend away in Norfolk, on the motorway, I was blown away by the clouds in the sky. They are truly beautiful, I could look for ages.
John Lubbock, in ‘The use of Life’:
‘Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer’s day, listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time.’
Nothing that connects you to nature or to the source is a waste of time. If anything it allows you to appreciate the true value of your life.
Today appreciate your life and everything you have in it. The more we appreciate the less we want. When you wake up every morning make a conscious choice of how you want your day to go. Intentional thinking is powerful.
