It seems like just yesterday that I had a newborn cradled in my arms. When you look back you see how time is gone in a heartbeat.
My next door neighbour recently gave birth to a beautiful little boy and when I saw that Jojo Maman Bebe had such beautiful new baby items available I fell in love. Not only did I think that the duck sleep-suits would look gorgeous on him I also wished I had my own little bundle to put in them too! I don’t think I will ever not be broody. No matter the challenges of motherhood I absolutely love the whole journey!
When I met her new bundle all the memories came flooding back! I remember both my births well. Sophia came into the world screaming before she was fully born. I remember her little feet kicking me from the inside pushing herself out. My most vivid memory of her birth was the moment the midwife passed her to me, it was through my legs her umbilical cord still attached, there she was in all her glory, she was wet and screaming her tiny body spread out and arms wide open.
She was not pleased about leaving her comfy warm place in my womb and having all this space around her. I think she felt a little lost. I quickly pulled her close to me and tucked her arms in, I told her: ‘mummy’s here now baby’ I wont ever forget those first words I whispered to her. Still so vivid in my memory was how warm she was, so warm and I watched as slowly her bluey purple skin turned pink. She was still screaming her cute little mouth wide open. Her baby gums with no teeth. I remember her scrunched up nose and eyes. Her hair was wet but some of it was sticking up where she had been resting on me. There is just something about whispy newborn hair don’t you think!?
I looked up to Mr T and I wanted to hand her over straight away. He had been amazing the whole way through her birth and I wanted him to hold her as soon as he could.
There is nothing like seeing your husband hold his newborn for the first time. Nothing on this earth compares to that moment. Giving him the most beautiful creation. One that you created together is a gift like no other.
Oh the memories.
Thats why when I saw the beautiful range of gifts designed exclusively in house by JoJo Maman Bébé’s design team I couldn’t resist a few bits. The range includes cotton blankets, adorable sleep-suits and baby booties.
Some of the themes of the collection include elephants, dinosaurs, florals, rainbows and ducks. The ducks are my favourite.
Many of the gifts are designed to be unisex, which is great if the gender of the baby is being kept a secret until birth. There is also a range of personalised gifts, perfect if you want to make the gift unique.
I was gifted a few items for both my two when they were born by friends and family and I bought plenty too. The quality of the sleep-suits from Jojo Maman Bebe are fantastic and they wash well too. I can’t wait to see my next door neighbours little bundle in his beautiful duck sleep-suit!
